We had a great time at The Real Food Festival in London a couple of weeks ago. We cooked up our new Pork & Herb Sausages and served them sizzling from the stand where the smell of the fresh rosemary, thyme and parsley herbs in the sausages wafted temptingly around the show!
To satisfy those with a sweet tooth we offered tempting nuggets of our Treacle Tart with Lemon. Our treacle tart, which won Gold at last year's Great Taste Awards, is made at our bakery in Launceston, Cornwall. It has an egg-rich sweet shortcrust pastry, made with premium Somerset butter, which is blind baked until crisp and golden. Rich golden syrup and fresh organic breadcrumbs are then gently combined with a touch of Sicilian lemon juice which cuts through the richness of the golden syrup filling. The pastry tart is then filled with the indulgent filling and gently baked to allow the tart to slowly rise and turn a rich golden colour producing an unbeatable treacle tart with a lemon twist.
Our award-winning Duchy Organic Ale - which is the UK's no. 1 bottled organic ale - was also available to try and is made using a rare breed of barley called Plumage Archer, which is grown at the Duchy Home Farm in Tetbury.
